Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation (also known as “boob job” or “breast implants”), is a procedure to increase the size of your breasts. This is achieved by using silicone breast implants placed either over or under the chest (pectoral) muscle to increase volume. The implant size, shape and position is selected depending on the final look you are trying to achieve.
There are many reasons women may choose to undergo breast augmentation. Some women feel their breasts are too small for their frame, others are unhappy with the changes they notice after pregnancy and breast-feeding, weight change and the natural ageing process.
It is completely normal for some people to feel self conscious about their appearance. A breast augmentation may help to restore confidence.

About Breast augmentation
What breast augmentation involves:
Breast augmentation with implants is usually performed under general anaesthetic. This is to ensure optimal patient comfort during the procedure.
An incision is made on the underside of the breast and the implant is placed either under the breast tissue or under the chest (pectoral) muscle as discussed during your consultation.
The incision is carefully sutured, dressings applied and a surgical bra fitted.
Breast augmentation is available at our Bolton, Blackburn and West Yorkshire locations.
Many breast augmentation patients chose to stay in hospital overnight. You may wish to allow 1-2 weeks to recover following surgery depending on your occupation. Mr Molajo recommends wearing a surgical bra 24 hours a day for 6 weeks. He also requests that you avoid heavy lifting and activities that cause bouncing for 6 weeks. This is to aid the recovery process.
1 week: wound check and review
6 weeks: You should be able to return to most of your normal activities. Your scars will start to fade.
After a few months: Your breasts will continue to soften and feel more natural. Your scars will continue to improve over the next 12-18 months.
The decision to have a breast augmentation is very personal, but empowering. Mr Molajo will conduct a detailed assessment to identify your needs and formulate a treatment plan for you. Mr Molajo will always ensure that this surgery is right for you. Patient safety is of the utmost importance as "safety first is safety always".
Breast augmentation usually produces high satisfaction, but certain risks need consideration. Risks common to all surgery including but not limited to: infection, bleeding and unpredictable scarring. Nipple related issues including sensation changes and implant related risks including rupture, capsular contracture and BIA-ALCL and breast implant illness. Mr Molajo will discuss risks and benefits during the consultation.
In most cases the size achieved is close to what the patient wishes, but it is not possible to guarantee final cup size.
