Liposuction
Liposuction involves the removal of subcutaneous (below the skin) fat. It can be used in isolation or in combination with other procedures to achieve the desired silhouette. Often patients find that despite diet and exercise stubborn areas of fat remain. Liposuction is often the solution for these frustrating areas.
There are many different types of liposuction. Some employ different energies to breakdown fat before removal, others use mechanical means to increase efficiency of removal. Mr Molajo will assess you and advise which type is best suited to your individual situation.
Liposuction is available at our Bolton, Blackburn and West Yorkshire locations.

About Liposuction
Liposuction is usually performed under general anaesthesia. This is to ensure optimal patient comfort during the procedure. Fluid with local anaesthetic is infused into the areas where the fat is due to be removed. The targeted fat is removed using a suction device and disposed of appropriately. Liposuction can be combined with other procedures (for example abdominoplasty) when both skin and fat need to be removed to optimise the result.
Many liposuction patients chose to stay in hospital overnight. You may wish to allow 1-2 weeks to recover following surgery depending on your occupation. Mr Molajo requests that you avoid heavy lifting for 6 weeks This is to aid the recovery process. You will need to wear a compression garment during this period.
1 week: wound check and review
6 weeks: You should be able to return to most of your normal activities. Swelling will subside
The swelling will reduce and your result will continue to improve over several months
The decision to have liposuction is very personal, but empowering. With his relaxed but informative style, your consultation with Mr Molajo will seek to examine concerns and determine what you want to achieve.
